The harbour and pier of Ameland is a good place to see waders and gulls.
From the harbour and the pier of Ameland you have a good view of the many tidal parts of the Wadden Sea. A perfect place for resting waders. The birds forage and rest on the tidal flats. Many Kis goda, Piroslábú cankó and Csigaforgató can be found here. There are also many different types of gulls to see, such as heringsirály and Dolmányos sirály, Ezüstsirály, Dankasirály and terns. Also keep an eye out for Kerceréce and lumma.

Nederlands: Vanaf de haven en de pier van Ameland heb je uitzicht op de vele droogvallende delen van de Waddenzee. Een perfecte plek voor rustende steltlopers. De vogels foerageren en rusten op het droogvallende wad. Veel Kis goda, Piroslábú cankó en Csigaforgató zijn hier te vinden. Ook zijn er veel verschillende soorten meeuwen te zien, zoals heringsirály en Dolmányos sirály, Ezüstsirály, Dankasirály en sterns. Let ook op brilduiker en zeekoet.
The harbour is located near the village of Nes on Ameland. Easily accessible by bicycle. Car park at the port. Note: paid parking.
