Very interesting birding area where the Oued Ksob river reaches the sea and special birds like Eleonóra-sólyom can be seen.
Oued Ksob is a river in western Morocco that discharges to the Atlantic Ocean on a broad beach slightly south of the city of Essaouira, This area is host to local specialities like gyémántrozsdafarkú, barnatorkú partifecske and barnanyakú szirtifogoly. Eleonóra-sólyom breed on the Île de Mogodor just offshore, but they use the river’s pools and meanders as bathing sites. A perfect place to observe and photograph their behaviour. This migrant breeder resides here from late April to the end of October,
Easy to reach from the city of Essaouira. You can take a taxi or just walk there ( a 3 km walk from the town center). You can scan the area from the bridge over the river and stroll along the banks.
