Haff Réimech wetland is an 300 ha old gravel pit area with lakes surrounded by reed in the Moselle valley just north of Schengen.
Haff Réimech wetland is a 300 ha old gravel pit area of which 100ha are classified as nature reserve. It is a Natura2000 zone and one of Luxembourgs two Ramsar-zones.
Haff Réimech is Luxembourgs premium birding area: out of the 330 species observed in Luxembourg, 260 have been seen here. It holds interesting breeding birds such as törpegém, Nádirigó and Crested Grebe as well as a lot of migratory birds. Winter visitors include Bölömbika, Kerceréce and Kis bukó. During wetter season, paths may be slippery. Some parts difficult to reach by wheelchair. Guided tours organized by Biodiversum nature center.
