Nagy-tó means Big Lake. In this large wetland next to the village of Tiszaalpár there is a big heron nesting colony in the willows-jungle around the Big Lake. Plenty of Bakcsó, Pásztorgém, Kis kócsag, Nagy kócsag, Szürke gém, Vörös gém, Kanalasgém and üstökösgém nest in the area. But there are many other interesting birds to see like Szerecsensirály, Vörösnyakú vöcsök, Kis bukó, Rétisas and Rozsdástorkú pityer.
