Thülsfelder Talsperre is particularly interesting because of its waterfowl. The Kis hattyú and Énekes hattyú are especially noteworthy, as they can be found in larger numbers during the winter. Various species of geese can also be observed, such as Nyári lúd, Nagy lilik and Tundrai vetési lúd. Many duck species can also be found here, besides Tőkés réce also Csörgo réce, Kendermagos réce and Fütyülő réce.

Thülsfelder Talsperre is located between the towns of Cloppenburg and Friesoythe. Parking is available mainly on the east side of the reservoir, in the north in the large parking lot of the Hotel Seeblick or in a hiking parking lot in the far south. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. The circular route around the reservoir that is shown on the map is about 10 km.
