Description
The Schenkenwald forest is particularly good for some forest birds, that are much harder to find elsewhere in the region. No. 1 is the Kormos légykapó. The forest has a lot of nestboxes and therefore a remarkably high density of Kormos légykapó. No. 2 is the közép fakopáncs. They are always there and chances are high, especially in winter. With some luck Kis fakopáncs is also possible. No. 3 is the Sárgarigó. Hard to see, but they are there. The best chances you have in the southern part of the forest.
Also mentionable are reliable Barátcinege and quite high numbers of Vörös kánya and Fehér gólya in the surrounding fields. With some luck, Kék galamb is possible.
