2224 meter high mountain in the Allgäu Alps near Oberstdorf. Amazing views from the top where several alpine birds can be observerd.
The Nebelhorn is a 2224 meter high mountain in the Allgäu Alps east of Oberstdorf. The mountain is easily accessible via the cable car Nebelhornbahn. After leaving the peak cable car you can circle the Nebelhorn peak on a 100m long walkway, that rests on an impressive steel construction attached to the Nebelhorn northern wall. You can enjoy views down into a 600m deep gorge and far over the whole Allgäu. It offers a view of more than 400 mountain peaks in the German, Austrian and Swiss Alps. Further options of short and longer hikes are available from the mountain station (Höfatsblick, 1932 m NN).
Among the birds that can be spotted around the Nebelhorn are Havasi csóka, havasi pinty, Holló, Szirti sas, , Házi rozsdafarkú, Hantmadár, szirtifecske, , Havasi pityer, Havasi hófajd and Havasi szürkebegy
You can park next to the cable car in Oberstdorf. Click on the P in the map for directions. A ticket for an up- and downhill ride with the Nebelhornbahn is € 48,50 (prices 2023). The peak area and the mountain station have restaurants. The peak walkway is even accessible with a wheelchair.
