Description
Nice combination of lake, reedbeds and woodlands. There is a large population of Nádirigó , and a colony of kormos szerkő at Die Banke. In winter, when other sites in Berlin can be a bit boring, one can find interesting waterfowl here, including Vörösnyakú vöcsök, Füles vöcsök, Kerceréce, Füstös réce and various loons. In the winter 2020 the lake was visited by one of the rarest loons, the Fehércsőrű búvár (gavia adamsii). The woodlands south of the lake are home to breeding Kis légykapó.
