Kap Arkona is known for its dramatic chalk cliffs, which rise 45 meters above the Baltic Sea. Kap Arkona is home to several notable landmarks, including two lighthouses. The area offers breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscape, making it a popular destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts. The chalk cliffs are home to a large breeding colony of partifecske. But you can also observe many other birds that are home to the Baltic Sea such as jegesréce, Örvös bukó and Vörösnyakú vöcsök.

Access

Kap Arkona is located near the village of Putgarten on the Wittow peninsula on the island of Rügen. Press P on the map for directions to a parking. During peak season, make sure to come early or later in the day as it can get busy. Visitors can explore the cape by following a scenic circular trail of about 7 km on foot.
