Description
After gravel mining ended in Freudenthal, the lakes became an important refuge for water birds. The area, which is now protected, offers suitable resting opportunities for many migratory birds and breeding opportunities for water-bound species in particular. The area is characterized by large groups of Kárókatona, Szárcsa and Barátréce, but rarities such as Kis kárókatona, Lócsér and Énekes hattyú have also been observed.
