Description
The Elfrather See is a lake that is mostly interesting in winter for wintering waterfowl, mainly diving ducks such as Kontyos réce, Barátréce and others. Also Nagy bukó can be seen quite reliably in winter. In the winter 2021 / 2022 jegesréce spent several weeks on the lake. There are many trees and hedges around the lake, which contain a wide variety of common song birds. The main attraction are the winter waterfowl, though.

At weekends the lake is used for recreationial activities (rowing, sailing etc.), which may drive some of the waterfowl to the side arms. It's easier to be early or on a weekday to get better views.
