Maybe one of the best wintering grounds for ducks, geese and swans in the Baltic region. Huge numbers of Hegyi réce.
Dassower See is a huge brackish water lake with hardly any disturbance by boats. Thats one of the reasons why this area is fantastic for all kinds of ducks, geese, swans, grebes and a good number of raptors. Rétisas can be seen easily and there are some good breeding species such as Barkóscinege, Kékbegy or Örvös bukó. The main problem is that birding spots are hard to find and you will have to stop at various points to get some views. I would always recommend to do a round tour by car although bike is possible too and to start or finish at the Priwall/Pötenitzer Wiek. Depending on the weather you sometimes find 30000 ducks on one spot and none on the other and the next day the other way around.
Do a round trip by car or bike.
