Description
Böhmerweiher consists of two lakes. The smaller lake supports Kis vöcsök, Vízityúk and Szárcsa. Csörgo réce overwinter here. The larger lake often attracts visiting waterfowl in the winter: Nyári lúd, Kendermagos réce, Búbos vöcsök, more rarely Fütyülő réce, Bütykös ásólúd or Nagy bukó. Jégmadár fish in both ponds.
In the gravel areas and streams surrounding the lakes Citromsármány and fitiszfüzike sing from the bushes. Zöld küllo feed on the ants. Guvat skulks on the banks. cserregő nádiposzáta and Nádi sármány populate the reeds in the spring and summer. Occasional visitors like the Búbos banka can surprise you by stopping to rest during their migration.
Sárszalonka sometimes forage in the wet fields surrounding Böhmerweiher. And sometimes Vándorsólyom hunt for prey.
