Alte Elbe is an old arm of the river Elbe near the town of Gerwisch. Good chances to see Rétisas, Halászsas and Daru. Many waterbirds, especially during migration time (e.g., Nagy kócsag, Szürke gém, Nyári lúd, Vetési lúd, Kanalas réce, Csörgo réce, Böjti réce, Énekes hattyú, Kis bukó, Nagy bukó, Búbos vöcsök, Kis vöcsök, Bíbic, Szürke cankó, Füstös cankó, Pajzsoscankó). In the adjacent areas Vörös kánya, Barna kánya, vörös vércse, Fekete harkály, Nyaktekercs, and very occasionally Gyurgyalag or Búbos banka can be seen.
