A 370 ha protected area along the river Ahse consisting of wet meadows, reedbeds and hedgerows.
The area is of great importance for breeding birds of semi-natural grasslands and wetlands. Around 80 species of breeding birds are recorded annually, including Nagy póling, Bíbic, Fehér gólya , Kis vöcsök, Guvat, Fürj, Böjti réce, Csörgo réce, Kanalas réce, Kendermagos réce, Kabasólyom, Kakukk, Kékbegy, cigánycsuk, cserregő nádiposzáta (rarely Foltos nádiposzáta and Nádirigó) and Tövisszúró gébics. Large flocks of Nagy lilik use the area during winter, and also a small group of Kis lilik from a rewilding project in Sweden has established a "tradition" to visit the area for wintering, starting in 2017. In late winter, the area serves as roosting place for hundreds of Daru and during spring migration, a great variety of ducks and waders can be encountered. Occasionally, rarities show up (e.g. Vörös gém, Cigányréce, Kis vízicsibe).
There is a car park in Heintrop, next to the sports field. From there, you can explore the area by foot or bike.
