The river mouth of the river Ahr into the Rhine. You can go birding at the river banks, the meadows (Kuvik) and in the forests next to the river.
At the river Ahr are breeding Kis lile and Jégmadár. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Kuvik (10 territories in 2020). Tövisszúró gébics and Réti tücsökmadár are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Fülemüle , Sárgarigó and közép fakopáncs. You can also see Barna kánya and Kabasólyom during breeding time. In the little reedbed are cserregő nádiposzáta and Énekes nádiposzáta (also common next to the Ahr). Déli geze and Kerti geze can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Halászsas and Erdei cankó. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Vízirigó.
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
