At first glance, the Canal de la Crique Fouillée area does not seem favorable to birdwatching due to its location: surrounded by major roads, several activity zones and fairly high pollution. Nevertheless, the wetland still attracts a significant number of sometimes rare species, another strong point of this observation site: it is very easy to access.

Français: La zone est une petite piste qui s'avance dans une zone humide relique entouré par l'ubanisation. De premier abord la zone ne semble pas favorable à l'ornithologie par sa situation : entourée par de grands axes routiers, plusieurs zones d'activités et pollution assez présente. Néamoins la zone humide attire tout de même un nombre important d'espèces parfois rare, autre point fort de ce lieu d'observation : il est très facile d'accès.

Access
Canal de la Crique Fouillée is located just south of Cayenne. To get to the site, head towards the Matoury crossroads. A little before the bridge that spans the canal, there are spaces on the sides to park. Press P on the map for directions to the parking spot. On the right side of the bridge, Capybaras are often seen.

Français: Pour y accéder prenez la direction du carrefour de Matoury, un peu avant le pont qui enjambe le canal il y a des espaces sur les cotés pour vous garer. Appuyez sur P sur la carte pour obtenir les directions vers la place de stationnement. Sur le coté droit du pont il y a souvent des Capybaras qui sont observés.
