Description
Mont Caroux represents the eastern limit of the Espinouse mountains. There is a rich forestry area where you can have a chance to see Nyaktekercs, Déli geze, Bonelli-füzike and Csuszka. There are also areas of heath which are home to Tövisszúró gébics, Barna kánya and Fakó keselyű. And look out for Szirti sas. More than 10 pairs breed in the area. Although visible all year round, this large raptor preferably performs acrobatic courtship displays in January and February. Other interesting birds you can see in the area are Kígyászölyv, Kövirigó, Kék kövirigó, Füleskuvik, Kucsmás poszáta sárgafejű királyka and Bajszos sármány. In winter you have a chance to see Hajnalmadár, Havasi szürkebegy and havasi pinty in the area.
