Description
Marais de Contes is one of the largest wetlands in the lower Canche Valley. The ponds were created by peat extraction. Today, the marsh is a 63-hectare protected natural site. Three routes of 1.5 - 2.5 - 3 km allow for observation. Among the birds you can observe are Nyári lúd, Kanadai lúd, Bütykös hattyú, Tőkés réce, Búbos vöcsök, Örvös galamb, Balkáni gerle, Szárcsa, Szürke gém, Jégmadár, Kék cinege, Foltos nádiposzáta, Mezei poszáta and Berki poszáta.

Access
Marais de Contes is located northwest of the town of Hesdin. From Hesdin, head towards Huby Saint Leu and then Aubin Saint Vaast. Follow the D 113. The car park (approximately 6 car spaces) is located on this road at the exit of the village. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. The circular walking route around the wetland is about 4 km.
