Lac du Mirgenbach is an interesting place because it remains relatively uncrowded because of the Cattenom nuclear power plant being located next door. In particular, you can observe Halászsas during migration periods. The lake is bordered by a forest where you can observe őszapó and other common forest birds.

Français: Lac situé à proximité de la centrale nucléaire de Cattenom, assez peu fréquenté donc bien pour observer certaines espèces comme le Halászsas. Il s'agit d'un endroit intéressant du fait qu'il demeure assez peu fréquenté malgré la centrale nucléaire de Cattenom se trouvant à côté. On peut notamment y observer des Halászsas qui y font des haltes lors des périodes de migrations. Le lac est bordé par une forêt où vous pourrez notamment observer des őszapó et d'autres oiseaux communs des forêts.

Access
Lac du Mirgenbach is located close to the river Moselle, just north of the village of Cattenom. The most practical is to go to the lake by bike, once you arrive at the site, it is better to park the bike and continue on foot for bird watching. Opposite the nuclear power plant is a big parking for cars where you also have a view over the lake. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking. The circular walk around the lake is about 7 km. On the northern side of the lake is a bird hide.

Français: Le lac du Mirgenbach est situé à proximité de la rivière Moselle, juste au nord du village de Cattenom. Le plus pratique est de s'y rendre à vélo, une fois arrivé sur le site, il vaut mieux l'attacher et continuer à pieds pour l'observation ornithologique. La promenade circulaire autour du lac fait environ 7 km.
