Description
The Dunes de Sokoburu are located at the western end of Hendaye Beach. They are a natural space, protected and open to the public for more than 10 years thanks to the Hendaye City Hall, the "Conservatoire du Littoral" and the CPIE of the Basque Coast. The most sensitive parts are fenced and visitors can walk along the paths. From this place, looking towards the sea or towards the mouth of the Bidasoa River, you can see birds such as Kenti csér or Kárókatona and looking towards the interior of the dunes you can see small birds such as Kenderike, cigánycsuk or tengelic.

Français: Les dunes sont situées à l’extrémité ouest de la plage d’Hendaye. Ils constituent un espace naturel, protégé et ouvert au public depuis plus de 10 ans grâce à la Mairie d'Hendaye, le Conservatoire du Littoral et le CPIE de la Côte Basque. Les parties les plus sensibles sont clôturées et les visiteurs peuvent parcourir les sentiers. Access
The Dunes de Sokoburu are located in the town of Hendaye. There is parking next to the port and on the "Boulevard de la Mer", but you should be aware that it is not for free and is very busy in summer. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. From the car park you can easily see where the dunes are: they are right on the corner of the beach and are surrounded by fencing. The route is very short and flat, and can only be done on foot, perhaps by bike, but it is not worth it. The paths are narrow and a telescope is not necessary.

Français: Il y a un parking au port et sur le Boulevard de la Mer, mais sachez qu'il est payant et très fréquenté en été. Depuis le parking, on voit facilement où se trouvent les dunes : elles se trouvent juste au coin de la plage et la clôture les délimite. Le parcours est très court et plat, et ne peut être parcouru qu'à pied, peut-être en vélo, mais cela n'en vaut pas la peine. Les chemins sont étroits et le télescope n'est pas nécessaire.
