Description
During migration and winter the water bodies can host lots of ducks if they have not been flushed by fishermen or hunters, among which several dozens of Barátréce and Kontyos réce and several hundreds of Szárcsa . A rarity such as the Füstös réce or Hegyi réce is always possible in winter. Still in winter but above all during October-November and March the wet grassland is a very good spot for Sárszalonka and Kis sárszalonka.
In summer typical breeders include Küszvágó csér and Búbos vöcsök on the lake, Tövisszúró gébics in the bushes or Réti pityer in the grassland.
In late summer and early autumn when water level drops the south-western water body can be very good for waders particularly Réti cankó or for a Fekete gólya stopover. In spring when water level is higher, kormos szerkő , fattyúszerkő or Kis sirály are regularly seen foraging over water.
