Description
Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile. The reedbeds and wetlands line the shore on both sides of the bridge to the mainland. Look for Kis kócsag, Pásztorgém, Vörös gém, Kék fú, Kabasólyom, Fehérkarmú vércse, Barna rétihéja, tarka halkapó, Halászsas, kuhi, wintering dabbling ducks and waders.
The hotel gardens are a refuge for smaller birds and migrants such as Gyurgyalag, smaragdgyurgyalag, Sárgarigó, Füleskuvik, Búbos banka, Vadgerle, Lappantyú, Nyaktekercs, Tövisszúró gébics and various warblers.

Access
Luxor is a popular tourist destination with its own airport. Trains from Cairo take about 10 hours. Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile just south of Luxor. From the city centre there are plentiful buses and taxis.
