A cafe selling great food and drinks with an excellent bird feeder setup on the back patio, providing close views of high elevation specialties.
The back patio of the Miriam's Quetzals cafe has fruit and hummingbirds feeders, allowing for great photography opportunities of many high elevation species. Frequent visitors include Northern Emerald-Toucanet, Flame-colored Tanager, Large-footed Finch, Yellow-thighed Brushfinch, Mountain Thrush, and Slaty Flowerpiercer. Common hummingbirds here include Talamanca Hummingbird, Volcano Hummingbird, and Lesser Violetear.
Miriam's Quetzals is located on the road to San Gerardo de Dota. Parking is available outside the cafe. Press P on the map for directions. Buy a drink or food if you plan to stay at the bird feeders.
