Description

Magnificent rainforest reserve of 54 acres. In 2004 this region was declared an Important Area for the Conservation of Birds (AICA / IBA) by BirdLife International. Due to its geographical location, the property is part of the Aguacatal river basin, one of the most important hydrographic basins in biological terms in southwestern Colombia. The spectacular rainforest surrounds the entire property from the top of the western mountain range. It houses more than 170 species of birds which can easily be photographed.

San Felipe Birding NR is located at km. 18 Vía al Mar, Corregimiento de La Elvira, Municipality of Cali, at 1,950 meters above sea level. Just 30 minutes from the city of Cali. Parking on the grounds. Press P in the map for directions.

The reserve has all the infrastructure for visitors, like hides for bird watching and photography, feeders, large paths and gardens, reception area, food area, souvenir shop, rest spaces and sanitary services. The tours are accessible for people with visual disabilities through a lifeline and QR codes.
