Description
The Koppenbergbos is a deciduous forest where you can enjoy woodpeckers such as Nagy fakopáncs as a common species and the közép fakopáncs as the rarest. The large trees and the low-lying wood are good for Csuszka, Rövidkarmú fakusz and Barátcinege. The bushes are home to smaller songbirds such as tüzesfejű királyka, sárgafejű királyka and classics such as Erdei pinty, Barátposzáta supplemented with fenyőpinty in winter. For several years now, as in many forests in the Flemish Ardennes, there has been the presence of Uhu.

Nederlands: Het Koppenbergbos is een hellingbos met als primaire soorten beuken als boomsoort waar je kan genieten van Csuszka, Barátcinege en andere soorten. In dit loofhoutbos kun je spechten als Nagy fakopáncs zien als algemene soort en ook de közép fakopáncs als de meeste zeldzame. De grote bomen en het middelhout is dan weer goed voor Csuszka, Rövidkarmú fakusz en Barátcinege. In de struiken zitten de kleinere zangers zoals tüzesfejű királyka, sárgafejű királyka en de klassiekers zoals Erdei pinty, Barátposzáta aangevuld met fenyőpinty in de winter. Sinds enkele jaren is er de aanwezigheid zoals in vele bossen in de Vlaamse Ardennen van Uhu.

The Koppenbergbos is located just south of Oudenaarde. There is a parking lot at the end of the Maria van der Gheynststraat. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The circular walk indicated on the map is approximately 4 km.
