Description
The Handzame Broeken area consists of a extensive agricultural area, being mainly pastures, with scattered trees, bushes and willow tree lanes. The Kreekebeek river flows through the area and is a great spot for waterfowl, like Csörgo réce, Fütyülő réce and Kanalas réce. The surrounding pastures are good for flocks of Bíbic. In winter, these pastures are part of the hunting grounds for Kékes rétihéja. In winter, area is also good for Énekes hattyú.
The scattered (willow) trees are great for observing Kuvik and Kék galamb. The scattered bushes and fences are a great spot for breeding species, like cigánycsuk and rozsdás csuk.
