Description
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like Nagy goda , Gulipán , billegetőcankó , Szürke cankó , Füstös cankó , Réti cankó , Havasi partfutó. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see Függőcinege and Barkóscinege in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like Réti tücsökmadár , Kékbegy , Foltos nádiposzáta and cserregő nádiposzáta are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
