This 27 hectare nature reserve along the river Inn has ponds, riparian woodland, reedbeds and open meadows and because of this diversity it is rich in birds.
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are fenyőrigó, fitiszfüzike, Nagy bukó, Jégmadár, Erdei cankó, Kerti geze Barátposzáta, Kis fakopáncs and both Hegyi fakusz and Rövidkarmú fakusz and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of tengelic, Csíz, and in late winter fenyőpinty.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find rozsdás csuk here and with some luck Barna kánya. On the pond you can see Kis vöcsök and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Guvat, Nádi sármány, cserregő nádiposzáta, Nádirigó and Foltos nádiposzáta.
Only 20 minutes driving from Innsbruck. Parking can be done in a large parking area alongside the tennis courts. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
