Jermuk Park offers a unique birding experience with its diverse landscapes, including lush forests, rocky cliffs, and mineral springs. The park’s mix of woodlands and open areas attracts a variety of bird species throughout the year. You can see woodland birds like Nagy fakopáncs, Énekes rigó, Vörösbegy, Fekete gólya and birds of prey like Törpesas or Egerészölyv.

Access

Jermuk is about 170 km from Yerevan (around 2.5-3 hours by car). The road is well-paved and accessible year-round. There are several parking spots near the park entrance and around the town of Jermuk, including near the mineral water gallery and the Jermuk waterfall. Press a P on the map for directions. Public transport: you can take a minibus (marshrutka) from Yerevan’s Kilikia bus station to Vayk and then a taxi to Jermuk (30 km). Direct minibuses to Jermuk run less frequently. Hiring a taxi from Yerevan is also an option and costs more but offers flexibility.

The best way to explore the area is on foot! The park has walking trails leading through forests, mineral springs, and scenic viewpoints. Biking is possible, but some trails can be steep and rocky. Allow 2-4 hours for a relaxed walk, birdwatching, and enjoying the scenery.
