Description

Kit Carson Park is a 285-acre (115 ha) municipal park in Escondido. 100 acres (40 ha) of the park have been developed, and 185 acres (75 ha) have been preserved as natural habitat. You can walk the different trails enjoy birding. Among the birds you can observe are Canvasback, American Wigeon, Mallard, Ring-necked Duck, American Coot, Common Gallinule, Green Heron, Snowy Egret, Acorn Woodpecker and Cassin's Kingbird.

Kit Carson Park is located at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92025. The park's entrance is located five minutes from I-15 (Via Rancho Parkway Exit) at the corner of Bear Valley Parkway and Mary Lane. You need to drive there. There are toilets, parking lots and even a playground. You can choose to do an easy walk or do the trails on the hills. The circular trail indicated on the map is about 2,8 mile (4,5 km).
