Description

Kaulana Manu Nature Trail runs through older, forested pockets spared from lava flows. A good spot to find Hawaiʻi Island’s native forest birds. You can see I'iwi, Apapane, Elaipo, O'mao, and Amakihi. The site has bathrooms and an overlook with views of Mauna Kea. Easy 3/4 mile loop trail. Birds can be seen year-round, but winter is the time for optimal viewing and abundance.
