A small area of marsh with water fed from underground chalk springs. Brilliant for its wildflowers, and riparian mammals.
North Newbald Becksies is a lovely area to have a quick scan of in all seasons. Due to its small size it is unlikely you will get a huge list of birds. However there is a lovely feel to this small reserve, and you will always see something of interest.
Please park at North Newbald Village hall (make sure you leave a donation). The Becksies can be very wet, and overgrown, so it is best to simply scan from the entrance. There is access onto the reserve, but no designated footpaths. Cattle graze the site.
