Hartland Point is on the North West coast of Devon.
Hartland Point during Winter is one of the best places to see Crvenogrli Plijenor in Southern England. It is a renowned seawatching point. The top of high cliffs are mostly agricultural over a wide area with hedges/scattered trees/shrubs with wooden areas both South and to the East along the coast. As well as Divers offshore you can expect to see other seabird species with resident/migrant passerines around the surrounding farmland.
LATEST NEWS, January 2022, the number of Crvenogrli Plijenor seen off Hartland Point have exceeded more than 100 birds on several days, making it THE place to see this species in Southern England.
The A39 (Atlantic Highway) mainroad runs between Bideford and Bude to the East. Turn off this mainroad West onto B3248 signed to Hartland. Before reaching Hartland turn Right onto narrow minor roads signed Titchberry/Hartland Point. Before reaching the Point car park there is a fee payable point just before Blagdon Farm. The gate here gets locked at night and is open 0930-1830hrs, check times on board at pay point. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 3 km long.
BE AWARE, as of January 2022 the fee payable gate near Blagdon Farm has sometimes been found to be locked between 0930-1830hrs, there is a FREE PARKING AREA further to the East at East Titchberry, THOUGH THIS MAY INVOLVE A LONGER WALK (SEE STAR ON MAP).
BE WARNED Due to crumbling cliffs do not try to get close to the Lighthouse.
