Public park set in 179 acres of mature woodland with gardens surrounding a lake and a popular circular lakeside walk.
Golden Acre Park has many varieties of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. A variety of birds can be seen at Golden Acre Park and through the neighbouring Breary Marsh, including waterfowl, migrant warblers, Brgljez, Mlakuša, Liska, Krunata Patka and Ćubasti Gnjurac. The Adel Dam nature reserve, owned by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, is adjacent to the eastern side of the park. This little wetland nature reserve has two bird hides and is popular with woodpeckers and Mandarinska patka. At the lake you have a big chance on seeing the resident Vodomar.
Extensive parking is available off the A660 Otley Road and off Arthington Lane. The park can be accessed from the Otley Road car park by taking the path under Otley Road, while turning right prior to the underpass will take you to Breary Marsh. Golden Acres Park Circular Walk is a 3 km loop trail (see the map). Add a extra kilometer if you also make a loop along the hides of the Adel Dam reserve.
