Benacre Broad is a coastal lagoon surrounded by trees on either sides and separated from the sea by a tidal sand beach.
Benacre Broad is a very good place for birdwatching during migration. Waders can be found in the lagoon and seawatching can be rewarding (as in any Suffolk coastal sites). It is a Mala Čigra breeding site, please do not trespass on the fenced area during breeding season.
The only way to get to Benacre Broad is by walking along the beach from the North (Kessingland Beach) or the South (Covehithe). Click on the P in the map to get directions.
Very important: check the tide and the weather before going. During high tides/storms the water may flood the area. Mind the sand cliffs.
