Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Ćubasti Gnjurac, Crvenokljuni Labud, Eja Močvarica and in some years Bukavac,Riđogrli Gnjurac and Brkata Sjenica. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Crvena lunja , Mali djetao, Dugorepa Sjenica and Žuti Voljić. During migration periods large flocks of Siva Guska , Kanadska guska , Divlja Patka and Kržulja stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Škanjac, Škanjac gaćaš, Crvena lunja, Crna lunja, Bukoč and Štekavac.
