Description
Lönö is an excellent spot for watching migrating birds of prey that follow the east coast of Sweden. Hundreds if not thousands of Škanjac and Kobac migrate over Bråviken. Among theese Vjetruša, Škanjac osaš , Škanjac gaćaš, Jastreb, Mali Sokol, and Suri orao are often found. Most birds of prey can be seen in autumn in oktober/september.
From the peninsula you can see large amounts of passerine birds migrate esspecially in May/Oktober. Most common are the Zeba, Livadna Trepetljka and Čižak. They can often bee senn migrating in the thousands.
In April/May hundreds of gulls and terns can be seen migrating along the coast. Among these there can sometimes pass a few rarer spiecies like Mali Galeb and Crna Čigra. In may a few migrating wading pass Lönö. Most common is the Veliki Pozviždač, which has often migrates in the thousands, at the same time you can also see smaller amounts Crvenonoga Prutka, Krivokljuna Prutka, Kulik Blatarić and Oštrigar. On the peninsula Rujnica, Rusi Svračak and Mali djetao breed. In the area Mali tamnoleđi galeb and Utva breed.
Hundreds of Krunata Patka, Patka Batoglavica, and Veliki ronac winter around Lönö. Smaller amounts ofĆubasti Gnjurac, Bijeli ronac, Mali ronac, Veliki Vranac, and Veliki tamnoleđi galeb can also be found.

Access
The area is about 35 kilometers east of Norrköping. To reach it you have to take Arkösundsvägen from Norrköping the turn left to Lönövägen where you reach the Lönö lighthouse after 11 kilometers. There is parking space just before the houses, next to a field. It is about a 1 km long walk from the parking spot to the lighthouse. The best spot for birdwatching is at the lighthouse but there are other good spots along Lönövägen.
