Small coastal wetland with pastures. Best during the autumn, when the site can become a small gathering place for resting seals and migrating birds pass by.
The Ganlet area is small but still consists of varied habitats such as pasture, wetland and mountains. Ganlet is a popular bathing spot and there is also a marina here, which means that the human disturbance can be great during the summer months. A visit for bird watching is therefore best done during the rest of the year, outside the summer season.
Ganlet is best during spring and autumn, when there can be a number of birds resting and moving around in the area, and when a number of migrating birds also pass by. Even in winter, it can be worth a visit as the area can usually attract a number of wintering birds and wading birds.
Ganlet is located 10 km south of Göteborg. By car: From Västerleden, turn off at Tynneredsmotet and follow Skattegårdsvägen towards Tynnered and then towards Önnered. After 1.5 km, turn left onto Önneredsvägen. After a further 1.1 km, a T-junction is reached. Turn left towards Åkered and then take a direct right just before the Halleskärsgatan bus stop. The car park is then directly on the right. Public transport: The site is also easily accessible by public transport. Take a bus from Frölunda square in Göteborg to Halleskärsgatan. The bus stop is right at the entrance to Ganlet.
