Description
Brannäs Våtmark is an area that contains several different ponds with varying amounts of vegetation enclosed by varying forest biotopes. In winter, there are still quite a few birds to see in the parts that don't freeze over. Šljuka Kokošica, Palčić, Crvendać and Kokošica are virtually there all year round. In the forest areas there are Mali djetao and Mali ćuk and the other common woodpecker species. In the spring, birds that nest in the ponds arrive: Divlja Patka, Crvenokljuni Labud, Kržulja, Patka Kreketaljka and Kokošica and in the reeds Trstenjak cvrkutić, Močvarna Strnadica and Trstenjak Rogožar. During the autumn, flocks of ducks rest in the area.
Observations of the following rarities have been made over the years: Crvenonoga Vjetruša, Gorska Pastirica, Bjelovrata muharica, Sjenica Mošnjarka, Američka gugutka, Veliki Cvrčić and Velika Bijela Čaplja.
