Next to Ljungen is a lagoon that attracts waders and ducks but also gives a good view of the plains.
In the occurence of good circumstances, low tide and not too fair weather, a good amount of waders roost at Ängsnäset. Represented by all Tringa that is to see in Sweden and some of the Calidris and curlews and godwits. The area is also good for Prugasti Pozviždač and for roosting ducks during migration.
A lot of times there is nothing exiting but the position of the site, at Falsterbo, has generated a quite long list of rarities such as Dugonoga prutka, Red-necked Stint, Riđokrila Pješčarka, Oriental Pratincole, Crna Roda, Mala Bijela Čaplja, Žličarka. So the hope is always there.
Located so close to Ljungen also gives a chance to observe some of the raptor migration, especially if wind comes from NW.
If going by bus take nr 100 from Malmö towards Falsterbo, step of at Haga and walk from there. If going by car drive road 100 towards Falsterbo and turn S to Haga Camping, park and walk from there. In the evening its best to visit from the South side and in the morning from the North (if so park at the Golf club and walk along the golf course.)
BE AWARE!! There are car thiefs specialized on birdwatchers and their optics!! Never leave anything in the car. This goes for the whole area and other parts of Skåne.
