The Marchamalo salt flats are an important wetland. The area is classified as natural park, SCI and ZEPA, therefore this is a place of great biodiversity.
The salinas de Marchamalo area is easy to navigate, and it has the peculiarity that it houses a large amount of fauna in a relatively small space. So it is easy to observe a large number of birds. It is recommended to visit at any time of the year, but in summer the visit can become very hot as there is no shade. Birds like: Morski Kulik, Južni galeb, Crvenonoga Prutka, Dugokljuna Čigra or Plamenac among many other species stand out.

Espagnol: Las salinas de Marchamalo se trata de un importante humedal, catalogado como parque natural, LIC y ZEPA, por ello estamos ante un lugar de gran biodiversidad. El area es fácil de recorrer, y tiene la peculiaridad de que alberga una gran cantidad de fauna en un espacio relativamente pequeño, por lo que es fácil observar una gran cantidad de aves si se pone la suficiente atención. Es recomendada su visita en cualquier momento del año, pero en verano se hace más dura la visita ya que no existe sombra. Destacan aves como: Morski Kulik, Južni galeb, Crvenonoga Prutka, Dugokljuna Čigra o Plamenac entre otras muchas más especies.
Access is through the road to the site. There is no parking area as such, but you can leave the vehicle parked near the last houses in the area just 20 meters from the observatory. It is advisable to explore the area on foot, starting with the observatory located next to your vehicle.

No existe zona de parking como tal, pero podremos dejar el vehículo aparcado en las últimas casas de la zona con total tranquilidad, a escasos 20 metros del observatorio. La zona, es recomendable explorarla andando, empezando por el observatorio situado al lado de nuestro vehículo.
