Plans de Sió is a large steppe-type area, dominated by single-crop cereal farming, located in the Segarra region. It is a dry landscape with some shrubs or scrub. Steppe bird species, such as Eja Livadarka, Mala droplja and Ćukavica breed in the area, but can be hard to find. The more common birds include Crvenonoga jarebica, Bjeloglavi sup, Zmijar, Patuljasti orao, Crvena lunja, Pupavac, Iberian Grey Shrike, Velika Ševa, Vjetruša and Velika Strnadica. Sometimes Španjolski orao krstaš is observed.
