Mirador de La Reina is set up on top of a vulture feeder. This feeder has new food every Friday morning but there are vultures around all week long.

Description

The feeder at Mirador de La Reina is managed by the Fundación para la Conservación del Quebrantahuesos (Kostoberina consevation foundation) and is a great spot to see some vulture species up close: Kostoberina, Crkavica, Bjeloglavi sup and Sup starješina. Note: The area is not open to private visitors between April 1st and October 1st. It is located on the road to the Covandonga Lakes, which is closed to car traffic during the season.

Access

Mirador de La Reina is located 7 km east of the village of Covadonga. You can park on the parking lot. Click on the P in the map for directions. There is a small picnic park in front of the parking lot and to the right of it there is a great viewpoint facing the feeder. NOTE: important info: between April 1st and October 1st the access to the lakes and viewpoints is closed to cars and they are only accessible by bus.
