Laguna Primera de Palos is the westernmost of the lagoons that make up Las Lagunas de Palos and Las Madres.
Laguna Primera de Palos is a natural freshwater lagoon that holds water all year round. The lagoon attracts a very interesting group of some sought-after species. Among the birds that can be seen are Èakora, Patka Njorka, Patka Gogoljica, Europska velika sultanka, Krunasta liska, Čaplja Danguba, Žuta Čaplja, Mala Bijela Čaplja, Sjenica Mošnjarka, and Bukoč.

La Laguna is located on land owned by Cepsa, which in 2000 collaborated with the Junta de Andalucía in restoration work of the lagoon. You can park near the lagoon. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. From the parking it is a 500 meter walk to the bird hide on the western end of the lagoon.
