Close to the village of Svit you can find a series of gravel pits near Batizovce. The lakes are mainly used by anglers and attract a lot of birds. The Batizovské gravel pits also offer great views of the Tatras and the Podtatranska basin. Among the birds you can encounter are Orao Kliktaš, Bukoč, Galeb Klaukavac, Kržulja, Patka Pupčanica, Žuta strnadica, Močvarna Strnadica, Žutarica, Gorska Pastirica, Crnoglavi Batić and Grmuša čevrljinka.

Access
The area is located 10 km west of the city of Poprad. You can get to the gravel pits by car and explore the area on foot. Note: Some gravel pits are still actively in use and not accessible.
