Description
Nyandungu Park is full of great East African birds, with a great set of wheelchair accessible trails, this new park has quickly amassed an impressive list for what is essentially an urban park. If you have a morning in Kigali, this a great place to wander around, birding in an enjoyable atmosphere, and even getting a great cup of coffee at the end at the restaurant.
From the parking lot (6am opening time!) - listen for nightjars, and then slowly walk around, making you way to the variety of habitats, which can have Gray-crowned Cranes, Long-crested Eagles, Arrow-marked and Black-lored Babblers, White-browed and Blue-headed Coucals, Speckled Mousebirds, Little and Cinnamon-chested Bee-eaters, lots of fiscals, cisticolas, weavers and bishops, robin-chats, waxbills and many sunbirds. Towards the back, on the eastern side, as the day warms up, look for one of the specials - White-collared Oliveback - a much sought after bird that is hard to find elsewhere in eastern Africa.

Access
Located on the NR-4 KK 3-Rd, near the airport. The easiest is to get a taxi from your hotel to drop you off - they should know it, or just point at the location on the map. It could be pricey early in the morning, so try to split it with a few people. You can also ask them to stay for the morning for extra, and then you will have a ride back later. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. The circular walking route as indicated on the map is about 3 km.
