The Balta Sanpaul Fishponds are ponds with reedbeds and a grazing area for sheep and cattle. Habitat for waterfowl, waders, rails, herons and birds of prey. Birds you can observe in the area include Bjelokrila Čigra, Brkata Sjenica, Golub Dupljaš, Kulik Blatarić, Kulik Sljepčić, Bukoč, Crna Roda, Eja Močvarica, Patka Njorka and Mala Šljuka.

The Balta Sanpaul Fishponds are located just outside the village of Sanpaul. Acces by car, parking in front of the fishpond security gate. Press P on the map for directions. Public transport from Odorheiu Secuiesc or Baraolt. Best explored by foot. Allow yourself 2-3 hours for a visit. Note: The platform is in decay. Not safe. There are 2 hides, but these are not accessible for the public.
