Description
The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as Španjolski orao krstaš, Suri orao, and Prugasti orao, as well as Bjeloglavi sup and Sup starješina. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like Mala droplja, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, Bjelonokta Vjetruša, Zlatovrana, and also Primorska Bjeloguza and Thekla's Lark. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like Riđokrila Pješčarka and Debelokljuna Čigra during the breeding season.

Access
The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
