Description

This spot is located 30 km north of Porto on the northern riverside of Ave estuary, where on low tide some mudflats become accessible for birds to forage. There is a nearby dock where gulls congregate. There (and looking from there to the southern river side), it's possible to spot Galeb klaukavac (all year around) but it particularly pays off to keep and eye on gulls during winter since it's possible to find Mali tamnoleđi galeb, Riječni Galeb, Crnoglavi Galeb, Burni Galeb and Veliki tamnoleđi galeb. On the mudflats it's easy to spot Kameničak and Mala Prutka. During migration the mudflats serve as a stopover site for waders and it's possible to spot Veliki Pozviždač, Riđa muljača and Crnorepa Muljača. On the trees and garden spaces its possible to find Kos, Crvendać, Češljugar, Crnokapa Grmuša, Velika Sjenica, Žutarica and Kukmasta Ševa, to name just a few.
